Bill Hofmeister is definitely a local legend in flat track racing.  Despite some of his competition being less than half his age, he remains the one to beat when it comes to the oval track.  In fact, he seldom finishes a race without carrying the checkered flag on a victory lap.  Though Bill rides a Rotax when the competition is stiff, he still loves his old XR, and races it often.  A couple years back Lee did some porting on the Iron Head XR, waking it up considerably.
